Hi my name is Garry and welcome to my website.

I’m a personal trainer in Glasgow. I’ve been in the health and fitness industry since 2013 and a qualified personal trainer in Glasgow Scotland for 5 years. I’m currently based at The Gym Group West End next to Byres Road in the west end of Glasgow.

I was inspired to become a personal trainer as I lacked confidence and direction as a young person and I learnt how to exercise, I learnt how to turn a negative into a positive. I want to shine a light on the positive.

My Personal Training Business is about empowering individuals, inspiring them and highlighting all their strengths.

I've had a few injuries that's affected my training in the past. I made it my mission to become more knowledgeable with stretching, flexibility and mobility training to help prevent injuries and maximise performance with not only my own goals but help my clients achieve the their best performance. As your personal trainer I want to get the best performance out of you safely so you can achieve your health and fitness goals quicker.

I was first introduced to TRX in 2016 and since then my training hasn't been the same again. The TRX is my favourite equipment and I love using it with my own training and with my clients. I have achieved many of my goals with this type of training equipment. The benefits of TRX has personally helped me develop strength with my bigger compound lifts such as Deadlifts, Bench Press, Squats and Overhead Press. This helps you train your core without having to do ab exercises and helped many of my clients achieve their goals. From weight loss, building muscle, developing core strength to improving with endurance and stamina.

As a personal trainer the TRX has been a great tool for helping my clients achieve goals they didn’t think they would achieve. The feedback from my clients is the TRX training has helped them progress with other exercises like squats and bench press.

I’ve been going to Garry for personal training since last year and can honestly say it has been fantastic.

I’ve never had a personal trainer before but knew it was something I needed to do. I was really apprehensive to start, as it had been years since I worked out and I am the heaviest I’ve ever been. Garry has been super friendly, patient and keeps me motivated. He pushes you enough to make a difference but not enough that you don’t want to come back.

Every couple of weeks Garry will take progress photos to help see the difference. This really helps and within the first month I was seeing a big difference.

The sessions take place at the Gym on Vinicombe Street (Glasgow West End). It has lots of amazing equipment, which Garry will incorporate into the sessions, giving a great mix of exercises in each session. The programmes Garry creates for in between sessions, are accessible on a great app that records what you do and helps you out when you need a wee reminder on the exercise you’ve to do. So you’re never left stuck.

I met Garry, about a year ago and he has completely changed the way I workout, from showing me various stretch techniques for before and after workouts, to showing me how to use the TRX ropes and some intense leg training which I had difficulties with in the past. Not only is he a fantastic personal trainer, he has a great personality as well.


I joined the gym last year and slipped away from going very rapidly and lacked drive.

Garry had done my induction so I got in touch with him to see what options were available for training to pick myself up. I used to go to gym feeling intimidated a lot and had a complete lack of knowledge of what I really wanted.

Garry set the pace and instantly was able to push me to my limits but at same time helped me strive for more! All of this was brilliant as he could tell what my limits were and would not push me too far but at the same time making excellent progress.

I now go to the gym with a lot of confidence and have a vast knowledge of almost everything and know what direction I want to go and most importantly I don’t feel intimidated at all.

What I like about Tao Fitness is that he knows how to motivate me, he makes each of my training sessions challenging but rewarding. I would have no hesitation in recommending him as your personal trainer if you want to achieve your fitness and health goals.


I loved training with Garry when I lived in Glasgow. He listens to your needs and develops a training plan that really works. You think at first you can't do it, but Garry gets you through it and you really see the results. I hate running, but he managed to get me running for 30mins, that's still an achievement for me. No more slacking on weights only. Also found a new love on TRX training, I never knew it was so good for full body conditioning until Garry trained me on it. Definitely the best personal trainer around.

After being a lazy pie for far too long I got some much needed help from Garry. Great chap who listens to you and plans a workout that suits you as an individual. Good price and he works around your schedule, providing you with workouts, diet plans, advice or even a good chin wag. I saw a difference within weeks. All round good egg!


Having not been to the gym in years I wanted to get back into it and worked with Garry to re-introduce me to exercise! He created a really varied set of sessions for me to do on my own (using his app) and spent two personal training sessions per week for 4 weeks with me.

He was very patient and explained each exercise, showing me alternatives to use if I needed them.
